We had our appointment yesterday for J2's MRI. After waiting 2 months we were anxious to see the Neurologist. After talking to us, getting J2's history, examining J2 and looking at the MRI the news he gave us some fantastic. It turns out that the FLAIRS in the white matter are more of scar tissue from when he was born. J2 had what is called a traumatic birth. My epidural wore off and he was in distress so they gave me another and did an emergency c-section. They rushed him off just after they took him out. El Patron told the Neurologist that J2 was blue, which I never knew, and they told him not to worry as they whisked him out of the room. The Neurologist said that the lack of oxygen for a brief time was what cause the damage. The scaring seemed old and J2 brain has compensated for it. There is also a small cyst in the back that seems to be benign and is really no concern. He said that to do anything about it would do more harm than good. He told us a couple of things to watch for and that he would keep his chart open for 2 years so that way if there is something later we can get in to see him.
The next challenge it the eye surgery. We have an appointment with the Ophthalmologist on Sept 3. J2 has a prism in his glasses that is helping but the surgery in necessary. Now that the Neurologist has cleared it, I am hoping that it will be taken care of before October.
We really appreciate all the care and concern that everyone has shown our family. We are grateful for all the prayers we have received for J2 and our family. We have has so many of our friends who called yesterday to find out about the Dr.'s visit, from here and Georgia. It is wonderful to know that we have so many who care for us.
We will keep you updated.

Wow! We are so glad that the outcome was wonderful! We will pray for him that his eye surgery goes great! We love you all and are extremely grateful for the wonderful news!:)
I couldn't be happier to hear this great news. Thanks for calling me yesterday...I lose track of the days.
Glad to hear the good news. Such a handsome guy!
So glad to hear it went well!
I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers for the eye surgery.
That's incredible that the doc could see how far back the problem goes. To birth! WOW.
I was talking to Brandon (Jeff's son) & he said to this day he still sees double. I asked him why he doesn't do the prism thing like Jared & he just said that they tried it but never gave it much of a chance & says that he's so used to seeing double, he never thinks about it.
That really bothered me. It will be so nice when Jared can put this problem behind him. You guys are such awesome parents for staying the course! That was so much intense perserverance and it's great that there's light at the end of the tunnel! COOL UPDATE Debie!
